Siemens Team Center integration with SAP Signavio

Hello,

We would like to connect Siemens Teamcenter with SAP Signavio Process Intelligence. Have you ever been experienced this connection before? As a process mining side we have no clue about Teamcenter data structure. Is it worth to connect these systems over API and how long does it take to connect those systems?  What would be the effort on that?  If you have any experience to share I would be very happy.

Hello Ayse,

for connecting Siemens Teamcenter and SAP S/4HANA (or SAP ERP), there is a standard integration available, developed jointly by Siemens and SAP (based on our partnership since 2020). It consists of two parts, one from SAP ("PLM System Integration") and one from Siemens ("Teamcenter Gateway for PLM System Integration"). Hi Thomas, Thank you for the information! Currently, we have a project to connect SAP and Teamcenter; however, it is not yet fully matured. On the Signavio side, our goal is to select a non-comprehensive process in Teamcenter as a pilot and connect it directly to Signavio via API. Since we aim to mine additional processes after this pilot, we are looking for a solution that is not a one-time connection, such as using CSV files. This leaves us with the API integration as the most viable option. Could you recommend or guide us on the best approach to achieve this API-based integration effectively?

Hi Ayse,
there are multiple options for connecting custom data with SAP Signavio Process Intelligence depending on the technology used by SIEMENS Team Center:

• Ingestion API to push CSV-based data files 
• depending on the data persistency of SIEMENS Teamcenter, you can use one of our connectors to connect directly to the database 
• you can extract the data to a data warehouse/integration solution like SAP Datasphere, Snowflake and others
• you can use a middleware like SAP Integration Suite to fetch data and push it to SAP Signavio Process Intelligence
