Service contract determination - superior reference object in service order should be excluded

Hi,

Suppose you have a service contract item with equipment A in the object list and another service contract item with functional location Y in the object list. Equipment A is installed in Floc Y.

When using equipment A as reference object in the service order, the superior functional location Y is entered as (superior) reference object as well. When the contract determination is triggered, both service contract items are proposed. This is not expected/desired, only the service contract item for the equipment is expected. Otherwise, while creating the service order, only the functional location will be entered.

Is this standard SAP behaviour (in S/4HANA OP/Private cloud)?

Kind regards, Jan-Adriaan

Hello Jan-Adrian

I don't know the version that you're using.  For instance, 2022 updates the functional location where the equipment has been installed. This means, if you update the equipment A as reference object , functional location Y is also updated . In this case, I guess that it will work.

However, if equipment A is installed in equipment B and there is a service contract for equipment B -> it will not work.

I think that it works in this way

Best regards

Silvia

Thank you Silvia, for your answer. We will implement BAdi CRMS4_SRV_CONTRACT to prevent that the superior functional location is taken into account for contract determination.
