Hi experts,
We need to assign business partners to our service products (using CRM 7.0). Is there any description available on how to do this?
We've already assigned relationship PRDBP to the category of our service product using transaction COMM_HIERARCHY. However, there seems to be no "official" way to set the partner procedure to the product category that is needed to determine the possible partner functions. For a test, we set a partner procedure manually in table COMM_PRCAT using SE16 / debugger. As a result, it is possible to create the relationships in BOL browser but it is quite unlikely SAP will support this Besides, there seems to be something to do in WebUI to display the relationships.
As there is a relationship type PRDBP, BOL relationships and code to handle partner procedures, there must be an (more or less) easy way to assign partners to products. But how?
Thanks a lot for any help on this!
Best regards,
Frank

HI Frank,
why dont you create install base that will solve you problem
in install base you can assign partner function as well as you can use it as a Service product
when you will search Install base it will also show your BP.
In partner determination process for Trans Type you can assign master data relationship --> Install base
i hope this will solve your purpose.

Hi Vaibhav,
I have to admit that I don't know much about installed base, but I think it would not really match our business requirement. As far as I understand installed base, we would have to create a new layer between product and partner - the installed base. Actually, we neither need nor want this additional layer...
I still hope there is a way to simply assign some partners directly to a product without manipulating table COMM_PRCAT.

Frank
HI Frank
Goto tcode commpr01 open material for which you want to create relationship than click on relationship Tab (beside General Tab) there is customer Tab by which you can create relationship between product/material and customer
The customer product number is entered on the tab "Custr/Distr. Chain" in the field "BusP. Product ID". This data is stored in the CRM database in table COMM_IL_PRDSCP.
I hope above mention will solve your problem
Thanks
Vaibhav
Hi Vaibhav,
This sounds quite close to what we want to do. However, we only see tab "Partners" and "Dep. Components (DC)" (which fits the config of the corresponding category in COMM_HIERARCHY) - there is no"Custr/Distr. Chain". However, the partners tab does exactly what we want to do - but it's only shown if we manipulate COMM_PRCAT.
If we could manage to show Partners tab "officially", this would make my day...
Regards,
Frank
