Hi,
we are running CRM 5.0 SP7 with the new queue framework.
My question: per default, the customer hierarchy is a bulk object. Is it possible to change it to an intelligent object?
The question why I'm asking is the installation process of our MSA clients: as we have more than 370000 customers in table SMOKNA1SHT the creation of this data takes by far the longest time and causes of cause a lot of delta messages when changing any of these customers although we are only interested in parts of these 370000 customers.
We as well tested a data collector for this object but only minor success.
Did someone already change this object to intelligent with maybe a filter on country?
Thanks for your help.
Jens
Request clarification before answering.
Hello Jens,
CUSTOMER_HIERARCHY can be changed from BULK to INTELLIGENT without any problems. There are already a lot of customers with this change and no recorded problems. The usage of the new queue framework is independent of this change.

Hello Jens,
Here is a brief instruction guide.
1. Remove all the sites assigned current bulk CUST_HIERARCHY object.
Check the REALIGN and SUBCHECK queues in Tx: SMOHQUEUE and make sure
that all jobs triggered due to this removal are complete.
2. Delete the subscription for bulk CUST_HIERARCHY.
3. Delete the publication for bulk CUST_HIERARCHY.
4. Delete the existing bulk CUST_HIERARCHY object.
5. Create a Replication Object (Intelligent) for SBDoc type CUST_HIERARCHY
with Criterial Field (COUNTRY 😃 selected.
6. Create a Publication (Customer Hierarchy by Country) for the
Replication Object above.
7. Create a Subscription (Customer Hierarchy DE) for the Publication and
set the Criteria Value to "DE".
8. Assign this new subscription to German mobile clients instead of a
standard Customer Hierarchy" (bulk).
If and when you transport these changes to another CRM system, please make sure of the first point that I mentioned - make sure all jobs triggered due to the removal of the sites from the bulk subscription completes before you transport the changes consisting of the new object.
Best Regards,
Ankan
Hi Ankan,
thanks for your help.
One question realted to that:
We can't remove the publication "CUSTOMER HIERARCHY" because it is locked by a default SAP subscription generator that can't be deleted (no possibility to delete in SMOEAC as it is SAP default). We don't need the subscription generator in our case but we can't remove as well the publication :-(.
What is the best way to remove this one subscription generator?
Thanks.
Jens
