Hi,
We are sending emails from SAP Marketing Cloud to both Accounts and to Contacts.
We set up a Preference Center, which is a Form/Landing Page where you can indicate on which newsletter categories you want to subscribe/unsubscribe.
On Contact level, this works fine.
But on Account level:
- For starters, you must turn off the "Outbound ID for Consuming App" on the link to the Preference page, as the page throws an error upon submit. It seems it cannot understand that it needs to write an interaction to the Account if the Outbound ID refers to an Account
- And even when not using the outbound id / prefilling, but just putting an empty email address box on the form, the effect is that an additional, anonymous contact is created with this email address, which gets (un)subscribed, instead of the account with that email address being unsubscribed.
So, how can we then unsubscribe on Account level?

Hello Joyca,
we recommend to collect subscriptions and permission on contact level. In the end an e-mail is always read by a natural person.
So from our perspective the right approach is to have the permissions maintained for contacts that are linked to a specific account.
best regards
Andreas Franz
