Disabling C4C outbound interfaces: MaterialReplicationConfirmationOut and BP ConfirmationOut

Hi C4C community,

We are planning to DEACTIVATE these two outbound confirmations messages: MaterialReplicateConfirmationOut and BusinessPartnerReplicateConfirmationOut, which are currently enabled on the Communication Arrangements in C4C. As these two are just for "acknowledge"/"confirmation" purposes.

The goal is to stop these two outbound messages generation every time a Material and BP is replicated to C4, from S4 HANA. We are having some intermittent connection issues, and this will help to reduce the number of outbound messages.

Question: Could this cause any potential impact in C4 system or S4 system?

Dear yac_01,

Disabling MaterialConfirmationOut will not cause any impact as the service to replicate materials is only one way. However you have to be careful about disabling BusinessPartnerReplicateConfirmationOut as that will create KeyMapping in the S4HANA system. Lets say you if you have setup the systems to have same BP number in both systems - then there is no worry. But if the number of BP in S4 is different to that in C4 then Keymapping is necessary.

About the BusinessPartnerReplicateConfirmationOut, we do have a CPI mapping configuration which allow us for a given customer (Accounts created directly in S4 system) the C4 ID is same as the S4 ID. So, for that case, where the Account is generated in S4, both C4 and S4 ID are same. Note: in this project the BP replication is only one way replication, from S4 to C4, no the other way.

However, there is a particular scenario where a C4 user could create a "Prospect" account in C4 (in this case the system will assign an "internal ID"). Then, the prospect record is replicate to a 3rd party system (additional information is added there), and finally (after other process) the same BP will be replicated from S4 to C4, resulting in the same record, but converted from Prospect to Customer. In that case the IDs will be different: The C4 ID will remain as the original "internal ID" and the S4 ID will be an S4 ID(whatever S4 system assigned). Please also consider that the "Internal ID" generated in C4 has been extended all the way to the S4 system, so when S4 replicate the Customer (previously Prospect) to C4, in the incoming payload, C4 received both: the S4 ID and the C4 ID.

Question: in this case, the "Confirmation" message from C4, will be needed for the Keymapping in S4?

Hello yac_01,

If you can take care of KeyMapping creation between C4 ID and S4 ID (with C4C Business System reference)when the BP comes to S4 from third party system , then you can disable the Outgoing confirmation message from C4C.
