Connection to FTP Server as data file base for assets (pictures)

Dear all,

does anyone from you established a interface between a file server (FTP server) directly to Marketing Cloud or with middleware CPI?

The expected result will be that in content studio the assets from FTP server are available. Is that possible or is this a wish which can never be implemented?

I know about a standard connector for Cellum (CMS system) but we doesn´t want to license a new programm.
