Our Commerce system is currently using the standard Commerce Cloud Logging Service part of the CCV2 deployment. We would like to configure Commerce to use a BTP Cloud Logging Service. BTP is deployed to another data center.
Both are very similar, if not the same, implementations of Open Search.
One approach is to copy all of the logs from Commerce from Azure blob storage via API called from BTP native application that would then log / ship those to BTP CLS.
I am hoping to find out if there is another approach where the two OpenSearch instances can be integrated directly, but some kind of configuration mechanism, where Commerce log agents would just utilize another end point to send the data.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Boris,
At the moment, the only available option to get the logs out of Commerce is to connect to the Azure Blob via API. I also do not see anything on the roadmap that would change that in the near future.
Kind regards,
Viktor

Hello Boris,
Well, to be honest currently Commerce Cloud is using service provided by BTP Cloud Logging Service. In that situation in fact it is the same one. Just Commerce Cloud during provisioning of environment is automatically creating CLS instance for logging purpose of CC. Therefore, there should be no point to create separate instance manually from your end. Is there any specific reason you would like to use your own provisioned CLS?

Hi Adrian! The reason is that all of our other applications are using the BTP deployed Cloud Logging Service and we need to be able to read logs in one place and trace between applications. So we need to change the instance of CLS where Commerce sends its logs, ideally. But I don't think it possible, unfortunately. Furthermore Commerce runs on another account and another data center compared to our BTP Cloud Foundry apps.
