Dear SAP Team,
I’m using SAP Customer Checkout on the POS device and the POS is connected to the CCO Server and SAP B1 on a server on the cloud so it required internet to communicate between the CCO and CCOS & SAP B1.
whenever I search for a Barcode item that doesn’t exist it comes back quickly on the CCO sales screen with unknow item which is the expected behavior but this is only happening when I’m connected to the internet and the CCO is communication with the CCOS and SAP b1 that are located on a server on the cloud.
The PROBLEM is whenever I search for a Barcode item that doesn’t exist and there is no connection between the( CCOS & SAP B1 & B1IF) on a server – and the CCO POS on a different device (Offline so Should work as standalone). in this scenario it takes more than 30 seconds to search for a barcode in the local database and then it will come back with unknown item on the sales screen on the CCO.
SAP said that CCO could be installed as a standalone device and I see when it works as a standalone device it takes long time to finish search for a barcode especially if the barcode doesn’t exist. Please advise.

Hello Mr. Ibbini,
when you scan an item, SAP CCO will first look at the local database, to find a matching material. If nothing was found, the application checks, if the scanned code is a voucher, which should be returned. For this, a call to the backend system (CCO manager) will be performed. If the manager is not available, bacause it is offline or the internet connection is lost, this call will return immediately with a connection error. A delay can only happen, if either your connection is very slow, or the server is taking a long time to respond. If this is the case, CCO will get into a timeout after 30 seconds, if there was no proper response.

My problem is when there is no Internet connection and the Server Manager is on the cloud, but I'm still getting timeout after 30 seconds. So the CCO is NOT SEEING the server but still timeout after 30 seconds which means that this is not a server manager problem but it is a CCO PROBLEM!!!!
Also if I disable the vouchers on the CCO does that mean that the timeout will never happen as there is no need to check in the back-end system for that item if it was not found on the CCO local database ?
The CCO application uses the Java internal classes to create a connection to the CCOm. So, I cannot tell exactly why the call to CCOm takes so long. The only thing you could do is lower the timeout from 30, to a value which is fitting to your landscape (e.g. 5).
If you don't need vouchers at all, you could think about disabling the CCOm voucher module completely. Then there will be no call to CCOm.
