CartsController split to multiple controllers in 2105 - 2011 to 2105 version upgrade

Hi,

We are upgrading our hybris platform from 2011 to 2105.
Came across the changes where CartsController is split into mulitple controllers (Upgrading Commercewebservices).
It was only mentioned about these controllers part, but they extend BaseCommerceController and there are changes in this class as well in 2105.
Should I modify BaseCommerceController as well? Or only create these newly created controllers and remove corresponding methods in CartsController?
