Hi,
Currently i am working on the mass e-mail activation and i have a general question on the documentation.
"Best practices for e-mail mass sending processes recommend to create a sub-domain as sender domain and not use your main domain."
The exact reasons for working with sub-domains is not given. Can anybody explain why a sub-domain is recommended? What are your experiences with your customers in this area?
Not all companies are in favor of creating addition email domains. What are the drawbacks of working with the main domain?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello Marie,
There will be multiple reasons on why SAP recommends to use sub-domains below are two reasons:
1. Sub-domains can be used to target a specific market segment, reading group, or country. Let's say your main domain is exmaple.com, if you use sub-domains like, news.example.com/marketing.example.com, with this it will be easy to identify the email source and also purpose of the mass emails which sent to customers/Partners.
You can refer the https://answers.sap.com/questions/745853/is-the-usage-of-sub-domains-for-mass-e-mail-mandat.html
2. With mass email you will be sending huge number of emails, If you use main domain, there is chances of observing performance related issues with respect to your email server, which may hamper the inbound and outbound emails.
