Hi Mon,
Wokflow is a better version of Routing Rules. In Routing Rules, only a field is updated when a conditions are met, but in Workflow, multiple actions (Field Update, Action, Email, Notification,etc), could be done at different times (during save, on create, or scheduled at different time ).
