For the ninth time already, the SAP Sports and Entertainment Forum took place. This year, the Olympiastadion in Berlin, was chosen as the location where customers, partners and prospects were invited to join the event and see the latest innovations for sports and entertainment businesses.
On October 14-15, we had two successful days filled with interesting sessions, customer talks, panel discussions and interviews with all experts of the industry.
As part of the SAP Sports and Entertainment industry, SAP Customer Checkout was also represented – with an own booth and various sessions.
Now let me recap all the highlights of SAP Customer Checkout.
In our demo booth, we were showing various scenarios covering the requirements that are needed for sports clubs, catering, and entertainment venues:
- Merchandise
- Intelligent Self-Checkout
- Kiosk
- Restaurant
Merchandise: We've set-up a little fan shop of the icehockey club, Adler Mannheim, where various topics such as Loyalty Management, Omni-Channel Processes, 360° Customer View, Purchase History, and Mobile Payment were shown.
Self-Checkout: Our latest showcase, which is currently a prototype, is the Intelligent Self-Checkout. A camera is placed above the table, recognizes the articles, and adds them into the basket. While confirming, the customer can pay, and no cashier is needed anymore.
Kiosk: Catering processes within the stadium or the arena have also to work smoothly. With our Quick Service functionality in SAP Customer Checkout, the system and its’ intuitive UI is adjusted to all the needs especially during peak times.
Restaurant: A sports club is not only selling jerseys, food and beverage in the stadium, but also invite its fans to the fan bar, or restaurant. Here, we also support table management functionality.

Besides our demo booth, we’ve also had some interesting sessions about different topics, future trends, and common projects with customers, and partners.
