Continuing the blog series of Building Communication Channels for Personalized Engagements

Here we are going to create a campaign to invite your existing customer base to join the Communication Category.

You should define the target group that is relevant for your communication channel or newsletter. This invite might not relevant to all your customer base so you can restrict it with proper contact segmentation and specific target group.

On this example, we will create an email with a link to the Landing Page and build a simple Email Campaign with a predefined target group.

Creating an Email with a Landing Page

On Content Studio App, select the content type Email and define Name, Marketing Area and Language.

If you have an HTML email already created, you can upload it here already. Otherwise, let's create the content.

In this example, I am using an screenshot of the video that was used on the previous Landing Page. We will also include a link to the Landing Page on the image and on the text, so if the contact clicks on the video it will take them to the Landing Page.

Creating a Campaign for Invitation

After Releasing the Email, you can click directly on New Campaign. On the Campaign you can define the Target Group, Marketing Area and Dates for this campaign.

On Campaign Automation, make sure you have the right Target Group and Email Content. By default the Campaign will be executed Immediatelly, make sure you review Campaign properties before Starting the campaign.

Once Campaign is reviewed, click on Start.

After Campaign is executed, the contacts in the Target Group should receive the email invitation.

In this example, if the contact clicks on the image or registration link. It will take them to the Landing Page.

Note that this Landing Page is hosted in SAP Marketing Cloud. Customers usually embedd this on their own websited for better user experience.

Next steps

Now customers were invited to join the Communication Category. Here you have seen how to use SAP Marketing Cloud Landing Pages on Email Campaigns, these landing pages can also be sent with direct link on other types of Campaigns.

On my next blog we will create campaigns to:

  1. Welcome customers to the channel;

  2. Campaigns for content-based marketing using this channel.
