Today is a very special day for me: not only have we moved our SAP Health team to a shiny, brand-new office space (WDF53) at our headquarters in Walldorf:

We are also very proud to announce our first step towards the Intelligent Enterprise for Healthcare - the first release of SAP S/4HANA Cloud for Patient Accounting. In this first release we support the outpatient surgery billing scenarios in Germany and support our customers to drive operational excellence by providing a cloud solution with a high level of automation and build-in billing rules.

Our vision is a "self-driving" accounting solution that augments human intelligence with machine learning capabilities to relive patient accountants from tedious routine work, so that they can concentrate on more value adding things.

Now we all know that Rome wasn't built in a day, so we will encounter situations where human intervention is still necessary. For such situations, we have designed the App Manage Billing Exceptions, where users can either resolve the issue themselves, or forward the issue via workflow to others - let's have a quick look:

I hope you like this first glimpse - stay tuned for upcoming innovations for Patient Administration which we will announce later this year.
