The SAP Customer Checkout 2.0 Feature Pack 16, published on 01.06.2023, brings with it numerous innovations. For many customers, the new Retail UI is of particular interest. We will take a closer look at some of the relevant enhancements in this blog post.

An overview of some of the most important new features:

  1. Retail UI

  2. Receipt Reversal

  3. Enhancements in Quick Selections

  4. Enhancements in Mobile Order

  5. Other

Retail UI

The new Retail UI is available! For many retail customers, this will be the most important innovation in FP16.

The enlarged receipt section provides more space for long item descriptions, names or numbers. The current user interface is configurable in the area outside the receipt area. The individual sections below the document area can be adapted and extended. In addition, another customisable quick selection can be opened via the "Quick selection" button, which is located at the bottom right. Therefore, there are numerous design options.

Receipt Reversal

What is new is that receipts can not only be cancelled or returned, but also reversed. This creates a new receipt that inverts the old receipt. The reversed receipt contains information such as the customer data or notes. In the receipts overview in CCOm, the reversed receipt and the reverse receipt are marked accordingly. In this case, the customer is not reimbursed.

Enhancements in Quick Selections

The customisation of the quick selection has been simplified and extended with further functions. The font size of the buttons can now be adjusted quickly and easily.

In addition, the background colours can be freely selected.

Components can be assigned to a single element in the quick selection. And the individual elements can be adjusted for editing directly by clicking the "+" symbol in the preview of the quick selection. In addition, the changes are displayed directly in the preview. This makes editing the quick selection more user-friendly and intuitive.

Enhancements in Mobile Order

The topic of mobile orders was also advanced further. Images for assortments and articles can now be displayed and adjusted in the Mobile Order UI.

It is also possible to set in the CCOm under Mobile Order/Locations whether a collection by the customer, a delivery or a query to the customer, as shown below, should take place.

Other

A new outbound service is available for generic communication systems to fetch and check batch and serial numbers.

There is a new support document. This can be accessed in the CCO in the configuration in the About tab by pressing the button "Download support file".

There is also a support file in the CCOm. This can be downloaded by pressing the button at the bottom right under the "License" tile.

Furthermore, jobs can be set in the CCOm, for example to delete already posted receipts or price elements from receipts. This can save memory capacity and improve performance.

There are also improvements with regard to the

  1. Local Tax Calculation for the United States of America (USA)

  2. Local Tax Calculation for the United States of America (USA) integrated with SAP Business On

  3. Tax Calculation with Avalara for the United States of America (USA)

However, these innovations will not be discussed further in this blog post.
