Overview
In C4C, we had the global business scoping setting of blocking Prospects from replication to other external systems. But with 1911 release, SAP has provided flexible options for blocking prospects replication based on "Communication Arrangements".
It means that for example, the prospect can be blocked from replication to SAP ECC/S4 systems. But it can be enabled for replication to Marketing Cloud.
Solution
Business Scoping Updates
Update the business scoping question "Deprecated: Do you want to block prospects created in your cloud solution from being replicated to an external application?" with value FALSE
The global setting now is prospects are always replicated to external systems.
Communication Arrangement Filtering
Enable the "Communication Arrangement Filters" in the below Administrator settings path
Administrator --> General Settings --> Integration --> Communication Arrangement Filters
Select the communication arrangement for which the prospect should be blocked, and enable the new bloccking filter criteria.
1.Select the Communication Partner (Communication System: External system where the prospects should not be replicated)
2. Select the Communication Scenario Name as "Business Partner Replication to SAP Business Suite"
3. Add the filter "Block Prospects from being sent"
In our case, we did not want the prospects to be replicated to our SAP MDG system. But we wanted to replicate prospects to Marketing Cloud. So this specific filtering was set for the MDG communication system, so that SAP MDG never receives prospects from C4C.
Conclusion
With this new 1911 release feature, it is possible to enable prospects replication to specific integration scenarios/systems. Especially when the C4C solution is integrated with both SAP ECC and Marketing Cloud, this setting would help clients make flexible decisions on pushing prospects across different systems.
