regarding data element with out domain

hi experts,

is data element without domain is possible while creating table (fields) or i m asking wrong question plz let me know.......thnx in advance....

Hello Ravi,

It is possible,just goto SE11 -> create table

here click on predefined data type,now you can enter char type what ever you want.

Hi Ravi,

Yes it is possible.

Just go to SE11 and try to create a data element, there create domain by in built data type not by domain.

Same you can do while defining table.

hi Ravi,

you can create a data element with out domain. but you can define only Description,field label,search help and parameter id.

but if you generate a table maintaince for that table, it won't be appear the description of that field (data element) in the table maintanance view (sm30).

but there is another way to populate the description for that data element. i.e

in se11 (inside table) follow the below steps.

in menu bar UTILITIES>TABLE MAINTANANCE GENERATOR> click on OVERVIEW SCREEN ->ELEMENT LIST->TEXT I/O TEMPLATES:

here you can give that description what ever you want and activate.

give points, if you feel that you got solution.
