     Symptom
In SAPNet - R/3 Frontend, you want to generate a key for a developer or
an object in order to carry out modifications to SAP sources or SAP
dictionary objects in an R/3 System.

Note that for security reasons, developer or object keys can ONLY be
generated on the customer side in SAPNet - R/3 Frontend or in SAP
Service Marketplace. For this, a special authorization is required. If
you do not have this authorization, contact your SAPNet administrator in
     the company.

This note describes the procedure in SAPNet - R/3 Frontend. In SAP
Service Marketplace you find the function via the following URL:
     http://service.sap.com/sscr.

     Other terms
SSCR, SAP Software Change Registration, developer keys, object keys,
SAPNet - R/3 Frontend, SAPNet - Web Frontend, SAP Service Marketplace
     Reason and Prerequisites
Access to the SAPNet - R/3 Frontend or SAP Service Marketplace
     Solution
For general information about the SSCR function, see Note 27532.
To call SSCR functions in SAPNet - R/3 Frontent, choose following
pushbuttons one after the other in the inbox
SAPNet -> Registration -> Registration SSCR'. The following pushbuttons
     are then displayed:

         o Register Developer

         o Register objects

         o Developers registered by me

         o Objects registered by me

         o Overall view

     Register Developer

A developer needs to request a key only once and he is registered. The
request for the key is made when the developer changes an SAP object
                                                                       Page 2

(SAP Source or SAP Dictionary Object) for the first time.

To register a developer proceed as follows:

o On the following screen choose the installation for which the
developer should be registered by a double-click. As of Release
3.0B, you can find the installation number of your R/3 System
under the menu path 'System -> Status'.

o On the following dialog box, enter the R/3 user ID of the
developer who is to be registered and click on the 'Register'
pushbutton. The system displays a 20 digit key.

            - If you also want to register an object, choose 'SAP object'.

            - To set a deletion indicator for a requested key, choose
pushbutton 'Delete'. See Note 41943 for more information on
               deleting keys.

     Register objects

Note that as of Release 4.0 object key assignment is release-specific.
It is easier to manage key assignment this way because only such objects
will be displayed for each release that were modified again after an
     upgrade.

An object must be registered when it is changed by a registered
developer user for the first time. If a registered user changes the
object at a later point in time, the key is no longer requested.

To register an object proceed as follows:

o On the following screen choose the installation for which the
object should be registered by a double-click. As of Release
3.0B, you can find the installation number of your R/3 System
under the menu path 'System -> Status'.

o In the field 'SAP release' enter the appropriate R/3 release. The
keys created do not differ for the 3.0 systems.

Also note that the release field in the SAPNet - R/3 Frontend
can be preallocated so that it does not have to be specified
again during every registration. You can define the default
values via the menu options 'System' -> 'User profile' ->'User
parameters'. In field PID enter 'SRL' and as a parameter value
specify the release (for example, 3.0D).

o Select field 'SAP Patch' if you are making an advance correction.
Advance correction includes all corrections which SAP makes
available (for example, through notes) and which are integrated
in the subsequent release. By setting the flag you get a quick
overview of all changes which have to be taken into consideration
            during the next upgrade.

o Click on the 'Register' pushbutton. The system displays a 20
            digit key.
                                                                       Page 3

            - If you also want to register a developer, choose 'Developer'.

            - To set a deletion indicator for a requested key, choose
'Delete'. See Note 41943 for more information on deleting
               keys.

     Developers registered by me

Displays all the developers registered by you.

     Objects registered by me

Displays all the objects registered by you.

     Overall view

Displays an overview of all the registered developers and objects
     arranged according to installation.
