Hello experts:

Thank you in advance for all your replies.

I changed a field's data element from char100 to char50, but the error popped up as follows: the field name is ZLDAPGROUP, the table is ZLDAPGROUPS .

Woudl you please give me a hint?

Table is not yet classified

Field ZLDAPGROUP: Length change

ALTER TABLE is not possible

Hi,

It seems the table has some data stored in it.

Goto SE14

Enter the Table name

Activate & Adjust table

Hi,

After you change the length of the field, go to utilities->database object. Click on Activate and adjust the database.

This should work.

Hi,

Go to Se14 --> Enter table name --> Select the radio button --> Adjust database. Then activate.

Hi,

if you try to change the data element of a field which already has some data stored, then you need to activate and adjust the table first.

go to SE14 and do the needful.

Hello,

u are saying that u have changed the dataelement but then did u perform this step. activate and adjust database (Database Utility). If no, please do it . I think then u can resolve ur problem i suppose.
