File Handling (Obsolescence).

Former Member

I was trying out the file handling features in abap.

I tried using the 'ws_upload' and 'ws_download' functions.

But there was a window which popped up and said, "function obsolete". I could use the function though.

My question is,

If 'WS_DOWNLOAD' AND 'WS_UPLOAD' are obsolete then what functions do I use now?

We are using SAP v4.7 in our office.

Thanks,

Sreekar Pande.

Hi,

You should be using GUI_UPLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD check out http://www.sapdevelopment.co.uk/file/file_updown.htm for example code and further information for these function modules.

Reward points if found helpful....

Hi,

the function moduls WS_DOWNLOAD AND WS_UPLOAD are replaced by the

function moduls GUI_DOWNLOAD and GUI_UPLOAD.

You can also use the methods GUI_DOWNLOAD and GUI_UPLOAD from the class CL_GUI_FRONTENDSERVICES.

Hello ,

The function module 'WS_UPLOAD' and 'WS_DOWNLOAD' are obsolete as of verison 4.7.

Instead make use of the function modules 'GUI_UPLOAD' and 'GUI_DOWNLOAD' .
