Customize col text is not working with

Hi Friends,

To call the conversion routine attached in the domain (removing leading zeros OR shows the formatted output) we use ref_fieldname property in the field catalog. At the same time, we want to display our column text for this field/col in ALV.

Now, the conversion routine is working fine, it takes the input from the internal table format it and display in ALV output screen. But, it takes the col text from Data Element Short Text. Instead we want to display our col. text.

How do we do this ? (When we add ref_fieldname property, it overrides the seltext_l property)

Below are our field cat code.

wa_fieldcat-seltext_l = 'GODOWN MATERIAL'

wa_fieldcat-fieldname = 'MATERIAL'.

wa_fieldcat-outputlen = 15.

wa_fieldcat-tabname = 'IT_RESULT'.

wa_fieldcat-ref_tabname = 'MARA'.

wa_fieldcat-ref_fieldname = 'MATNR'.

We are using ECC 6.0 and using the FM 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY' to display output in ALV.

Kindly reply.

Kind regards,

Jegathees P.

Hi Jegathees,

Try to write wa_fieldcat-seltext_s = 'GODOWN MATERIAL' instead of wa_fieldcat-seltext_l .

Hello

wa_fieldcat-seltext_l = 'GODOWN MATERIAL'
wa_fieldcat-seltext_m = 'GODOWN MATERIAL' " <- add this
wa_fieldcat-seltext_s = 'GODOWN MATERIAL' " <- add this
wa_fieldcat-reptext_ddic = 'GODOWN MATERIAL'" <- add this
wa_fieldcat-fieldname = 'MATERIAL'.
wa_fieldcat-outputlen = 15.
wa_fieldcat-tabname = 'IT_RESULT'.
wa_fieldcat-ref_tabname = 'MARA'.
wa_fieldcat-ref_fieldname = 'MATNR'.

I don't think thats possible, when you use the ref_fieldname / ref_tablename fields.......the field inherits all the propperties in the dictionary overwritting all the other ones...

If you need another coltext, you shudn't use this fields (ref_fieldname / ref_tablename)

if its a matter of conversion exit,

then do it explicitly in your program for that particular field

Donot refer that field to the DDIC properties, then add your own text description.

Hi Friends, yes, I am not able to use sel_text with ref_tabname, ref_fieldname property.

Finally I called conversion exit explicitly.
