Change language settings

Hi there,

I have a problem with my log in, it seems that all my data dictionary / class / FM are in german now! I'm refering to the description of the fields / methods, etc...what can I do to reset my language preference to EN? I already logged in as EN!

Goto User Settings as : Systems -> User Profile -> Own Data -> Defaults (Tab)

Change the Logon Language there...

Across all the user this is the texts coming . But we have an IDES version it is displaying correctly in English ... Pl help me with this

Login in EN language and try to change the text of a Ztable or some text. The system will ask two options

1 . Maintain in Original Language

2. Change Orginal Language

Click the option Change Orginal Language and change to language of ur desire.

It asks me ... Maintain in orginal Language or Maintain in Logon Language .. when i choose ... Logon language .... no effect .. is there anyway to change the orginal language

I'll tell you the in the transaction se18 ... the Badi descriptions is in english but the methods descriptions are still in German .... can anyone help

the transaction you are working on is SE18

if you check the menu and choose 'Goto' end then choose 'Translation' you should be able to change the language....

Original language DE German

Target language .. fill in EN

The 'Target language' enables you to change the language key:

Language Key

The language key designates the language in which you:

Display texts

Enter texts

Print documents.

There is no option in goto menu named Translations

Not in the initial screen of SE18, that is correct.

However, fill in the name of the Badi and then press display.

If you double click on for example the enhanced object on Tabstrip 'technical details' you then are redirected to the Class Builder and there the menu 'Goto' does have an "translation' option.

Hi Mathivanan G,

1.You can set whatever language you want as the default language.

2. User's can change the language in the login screen

3.You can disable the language field in the login screen so that the user cannot change the default language

Languages will be dependent on the logon languege of the user. So if the user logs on in Thai, he'll see the texts in Thai (if they are translated).

Sometimes there are no english translations available and than standard the orginal german are displayed? Or else check compare your personal settings with a co-worker via menu 'Help' - 'Settings' ..
