Background job is not producing spool

Former Member

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right forum........

We have a issue when running a background job, system is not producing a spool list. We are sending e-mails to users based on the background job, but since no spool is created there is not any e-mail to send. We have tried to use a DUMMY printer specified in the step, but job will only create spool if we define a real printer in the job step. Are there any other ways to achive a spool without printing, we only want to send e-mails....?

Any help would be great

Kind regards

Sorry, but this is not the issue. The case is that we have to set a printer for system to create a spool, and by then be able to send it as e-mail. Question is if there are any other possibilities to create a spool for an background job without actually print the result as well......

Hi,

In the Print parameters used in SUBMIT or GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS fm.. pass :

PRINT_IMMEDIATELY = ' '. " Set it to blank instead of X

This would create a spool but wont fire a print.

Best regards,
