Archiving process performance issue

Hi All,

We know that 'deletion before storage' option is performance wise beneficial than deleting the archive files after storage. But my client wants data security as the priority. I would like to know by how much factor does the performance gets affected. We would like to weigh the performance versus data security.

Pls share your thoughts.

Thanks,

Priya.

Hi Priya,

how much factor does the performance gets affect - Depends upon archiving object and the data range selected.

I am using both the scenarios didn't find major impact on the performance such as termination of job due to long time and so on

When it comes to data security:

For the archiving objects like FI_DOCUMNT we are using Store before Delete because before deleting the data client wants it to be stored to have high security of their data.

Other archiving object like SD, MM, PP we are using Delete before store options.

With my experience i can say that performance wise Delete before store is better so you can run all the logistic related archiving object with this option and All FI and CO related archiving object with Store before delete option. This will take care of both the performance and data security.

Reward if it benifits.

-Thanks,

Ajay
