ALV Grid Short Dump

Former Member

Hello,

I have an editable ALV Grid (based on CL_GUI_ALV_GRID object). I am able to add data and save it. However:

(1) When I edit 1 particular column of grid (change number or make it blank), I get a short dump with message "GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED - Field symbol has not yet been assigned".

(2) When I edit one of the columns of the grid, the change seems to be also affecting the column next to it. (ex: If I change value of first column to 10, the second column also shows value of 10 after data has been saved)

Can anyone help with these issues please?

Hi Srini

For your first question, it may be due to various reasons since ALV is coded generically with field symbols. So, you should also analyze where this dump occurs. e.g. when you try to use ALV's sorting wrt. a field that is not in field catalog, it gives dump.

For your second question, it seems you have implemented in "data_changed" event something wrong. So, check it out.

As a guide you can also refer to the tutorial <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/an%20easy%20reference%20for%20alv%20grid%20control.pdf">"An Easy Reference for ALV Grid Control"</a>.

Check your field catalog ..

it seems one of your filed name is not correct ..

check in case you have used lower case in codes while populating field name in field catalog.

like 'matnr' is not acceptable ..it should be 'MATNR'.
