About SAPLLOCAL_EDT1

Hi all

The SAPLLOCAL_EDT1 process shows up often these days in our development system and slows down the whole system while the user who initiated it does not even know about it.

Could anybody tell me why and how this happens and how could we avoid it? I've searched the forum and didn't get the answer I need. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ricky,

1 SAPLLOCAL_EDT1

This is something related to SE38 only.

2. Probably, u may need help

of basis team to identify the problem.

3. From tcode sm50,

they will able to see the user name,

time of intiiation , etc

and may be able to DIAGNOSE what is happening.

regards,

amit m.

Thanks Amit

Yeah, I'm using sm50 to find this process and terminate it when the system becomes slow.

However, I'd like to know how to AVOID this process being initiated without on purpose. In other words, I want to know what kind of operations initiate this process.

Thanks

Hi again,

1. There can be the following things happening

a) some body from front-end has

started this process (se38)

b) or some BACK GRound job

( which has been scheduled)

is running

2. in sm50,

see the first column TY

3. it will have the following values

DIA = DIALOG (user has manually strated)

BGD = BACKGROUND (b/g job is running)

4. From there only,

we can diagnose !

amit m.
