Abap system LDAP configuration

Hello everyone!

Could somebody give step-by-step manual how to configure ldap connection and user mapping in abap system?

Current sitation:

1. Configure LDAP Connector

2. Create System User

3. Configure LDAP Server

This part is done and works fine...

But what should i do next?

I want to use for mapping ExtensionAttribute3. And i dont want to change AD schema (or i have to do it anyway?)

I found few manuals but they are different...

In one of them i found as a next step:

"Navigate to transaction SPRO and select SAP Customizing Implementation Guide.

Drill down to SAP Netweaver->Gateway-> Generic Channel->Configuration->Consumer Settings->Select User Mapping Type.

Add a new entry and enter LDAP based user mapping, LDAP server you created in the previous steps and the LDAP attribute to be used for mapping."

But i dont have this menues in SPRO...

In other manual i have to go to transaction LDAPMAP. It looks like in this case i need some XML file with mapping attributes, after that i need to make this feel mapping. And then i have to set synchronization account from AD to ABAP. But i dont understand where i can get XML file and i guess in this file should be ExtentionAttribute3 as a mapping attribute...

So... I will be very appreciate for any assistance!

Thank you in advance!

Hi Andrey,

you need to import proposal in section 'mapping' of LDAPMAP transaction. I am sorry for missing out your query here. Have you done that yet?

Kind regards,

M. Nizam

Hi Andrey,

I am facing the same issue for last two weeks. LDAP completely done, also LDAP MAP, but getting problem while executing RSLDAPSYNC_USER report in SE38.

Seems like there needs to be some setting done in MS AD server, I am not sure what, but we need assistance of an IT person here, which unfortunately our client don't have. I will keep you posted on updates if I get any progress in the meeting next week. Hope the same from you as well. Kindly go through the below link and see if you can make any sense of it. I am unable to do so as I don't understand the concepts and working operations of MS active directory server.

HI Andrey,

GO to transaction LDAPMAP, first input all the entries on the first screen like

1. Server name (Program ID you entered while creating RFC)

2.Host name (of active directory server),

3. Port no. 389 (default),

4. Product name (MS 2003),

5. Protocol version (LDAP ver 3),

6. LDAP Application (User)

7. Base entry (CN=.., CN=Users. etc etc, to be obtained from Active directory server by It admins)

8. System logon (User made in active directory)

save your entries. Now on top left side click on "mapping". On the new screen you will get, click on tab 'Utilities' and then click on second option 'Import proposal'.

You don't need to download any XML files from SAP market place. If everything goes fine, you may award me points. Any issues please revert back.

Kind regards,

M. Nizam

Hi Andrey,

The proposal is there by default. Bit you need to make entries in LDAPMAP first (main screen of LDAPMAP). and save it. Then proceed to click on LDAP mapping. Have you filled up the entries on main sap screen of LDAPMAP?

Kind regards,
