Hi, all, it is possible to build reports or input schedules with the EPM Add-On with allow the users to swing open and collapse hierarchies as it is possible in SAP BW queries?

If it is possible how is it possible?

Thanks in advance and best regards

Hi Gerd,

EPM has provided two functionalities -

  1. EXPAND -this will provide you the drill-down from the parent node to its child nodes.
  2. COLLAPSE - will help rollback from child nodes to its parent.

Gerd,

You can also make sure the users have enabled double-click in their User Options to allow them expand and collapse in the report or input form, directly.  That will likely be more efficient than having to click the expand and collapse buttons in the EPM ribbon.

Hi Gerd,

Yes, you can do this

If your report uses (for example) accounts, and these are not base-level, you can 'drill-down' by double clicking (or right-mouse click, and select 'drill-down')

For example, if you had something like this

                         2014.01     2014.02

AC_SUB1          100               200

AC_SUB2          200               400

AC_TOT            300               600

You could expand to

                         2014.01     2014.02

AC_SUB1          100               200

  AC_1                 50               200

  AC_2                 50

AC_SUB2          200               400

  AC_3                100               300

   AC_4                 50               100

  AC_5                  50

AC_TOT            300               600

Don't forget, that actual entry can only be done at base-level (leaf) nodes. The intermediate nodes are simply roll-up totals of the leaves

Thanks

Marc
