Hello Everyone

we arte currently doing a SP upgrade from SP16 to SP23 in our GRC 10.0 system.

Is there any common or pre-dominant issues that some one has faced after this SP upgrade in GRC?

Regards

Ganesh

Hello Everyone

After the upgrade in QA system,we see that the response time from NWBC has become more.

Access management and model user WF are taking more time to respond than in the past.

Has anyone faced similar issue?

You can go to the SP and run a side effects report.  We just upgraded from SP13 to SP22.  I ran a report for each SP.  Several fixes are listed in each.  Sometimes fixes are issued in the next SP, sometimes they skip several, so it's worth running a report for each one.

Go to this link for SP16.  From here you can run the side effects report.

Matt,

That sounds potentially helpful. What is required to get access to that report?

Thanks,

Sorry.  Not sure why that link didn't work.  It works for me.  Try this:

https://websmp207.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=00200682500000001943&_EVENT=DISPHIER&HEADER=Y&FUNCTIO...

Click entry by component

Click Process Control

Click SAP Shared GRC Components 10.0

Click Support Packages

From there click on the entry under "Title" and it lists full SP detail.  You can run the side effects report from there.  This is a longer process but it gives you better info and more flexibility.

Matt,

Thank you, the new link worked better. I was prompted for my S-ID and password. Then I got the new message, that I am not authorized for downloads, which was not a surprise. So users who wish to try your suggestion should be aware that their SMP account may not be authorized for it.

Gretchen,

The authorization message is a non-issue.  As long as you have an S* ID you can perform the necessary research.

Hello Matt

I am still not able to access the link"https://websmp207.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=00200682500000001943&_EVENT=DISPHIER&HEADER=Y&FUNCTIO..."

Getting the same message as Gretchen.(no authorisation).

Any alternate way yo handle/access this?

Hello Ganesh,

Once SP upgrade is completed, check the basic functionality of existing environment.

  • Workflows that you are using
  • Risk Analysis Screens at user level/role level and alignments
  • Reports layout
  • NWBC screen layouts
  • Methodology Process in BRM
  • Access request screen etc.,

Dear Ganesh,

I have just upgraded a customer from 10.0 SP14 to 10.1 SP12 which is almost a similar jump than yours. I haven't had major issues and most minors where already corrected with notes from SP13/SP14.

Anyway, I wouldn't say that there is no major issue in your case since it depends on your system. The upgrade I am talking about was in SAP standard and with limited configurations even though ARA, ARM, EAM and BRM is used.

Hope this helps.

Ganesh,

The likeliest place to identify issues in SP23 would be the corrections in SP24, which may or may not affect the components that your organization has in use.

Good luck, that is a pretty big jump. In the future, you might want to put on SPs a bit more frequently.
