Hi all,
Would like to know if there is general guide/iview package/ or if you have suggestions on how to embed the SAP Gui into Enterprise Portal iview content.
Eg.
1. How to configure to launch the SAP R/3 Gui within SAP EP browser as iview(Do we need to have ITS/SAP Gui for HTML Installed or SAP GUI for windodws can launch within browser)
2. How to configure to launch specific R/3 transaction within SAP EP Browser as iview
3. How to choose whether to launch in existing window or new window(or whether impossible)
Thanks,
Alex
Hi Alex,
a quick starting point for you is the Enterprise Portal best practices toolset (https://media.sdn.sap.com/html/submitted_docs/Best_Practices/EP/index.htm) and its rapid prototype section (https://media.sdn.sap.com/html/submitted_docs/Best_Practices/EP/rapid_prototype.htm) and its building block N04: General settings.
It contains a quick reference how to set up iViews based on R/3 transactions viewed by SAPGUI or SAPGUI for HTML.
As to your question, you can embed both SAPGui for HTML an SAPGui -displayed transactions in your portal. With SAPGui for HTML, you need an ITS and with SAPGUI for Windows you need the app locally installed as with normal SAP R/3 use.
Hope this helps,
Mikko

Hi,
an additional option is to use SAPGUI for Java, which can be automatically installed using Web Deployment. From the manual part of SAPGUI for Java installation:
"Web installation is triggered by the content of a web page that was set up by the system administrator. If there is currently no SAPGUI for the Java Environment installed on the frontend computer, or if the version does not meet the requirements specified on the web page, the automatic installation is triggered."
For more information, goto http://service.sap.com/sapgui-java.
Best regards
Rolf-Martin
