Hi Experts,

I´m facing a similar problem. When I Start NPL on SAP Management Console, I only get a green line for the database instance. It says that there is a problem with the others 2. When I try to connect on PlatinunGUI I get a error with port 3201. If I change the port to 50013 or 54213 on edit options, I reach a connecting blue bar that only get to middle and stops forever.

I have follow the How to Guide provide on SDN website. How to Guide

I´m using workstation 8 with 3GB of ram memory allocated in a windows physical environment.

On step 6, for linux hostname and domain, it was asked for "When prompted, enter your network and domain. If you are in corporate environment, enter a unique hostname and the domain name of your company. (See diagram below.)"

I´m in a home environment and didn´t know what to use. I type my name twice.

Should I have choosn SAP EVA ou DEV license ?

Many thanks

Fernando,

So you are running this Linux MAXDB system(NPL) in an VIRTUAL environment?

What did you set the hostname to in the Virtual system?

I used the EVA license and then used this link for trial license:

https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/minisap/minisap.htm

The correct Port to connect to NPL trial system would be /H/hostname/S/3242

The system number is set to 42 in LINUX/MAXDB trail system.

You can also check the work files for reasons why other processes died.

Dear FC7600,

I believe the problem was a lack of RAM memory. I set 3GB for the virtual machine. Checking the system, I realizes it was missing some memory to run specificity services. 3GB shouldn´t be enough ?

I used for hostname, the name of my windows system.

Many thanks for your help.

Hi, using the SAP Management Console I discovered that the dispatcher service was stopped because of uuidd error in activation.

I'm on SLES 11 SP1 and installing sapconf all is ok now. See SAP Note 1391070.

I hope this info help others.

Hi Massimo,

I got the same error, and want to install sapconf patch.

However I got error message when trying to download patch:

Unable to access (http://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=zV1i7SjPj8k~)

Seems I have not bought a SLES installation...

Can you please help me explain how to get access to latest version of u201Csapconfu201D?

Or can I install "sapconf" from the iso-file downloaded?

Please explain how to install...

I do not find any specific information how to install in SAP notes 1391070 and 1310037.

Best regards,

Oeystein

Are you trying to access using the sap router string ?

Why not add the system and then try to access.

Hi,

The database is not running, hence the SAP system also does not come up.

Connect to the MaxDB database via dbmcli or DBM GUI and check if database is up and running.

Then login as <sid>adm user and run the command 'R3trans -d'.

Check the output. Also the trans.log will be created in the current directory. Check the same for errors.
