Did you mean:

Have you seen every episode of Star Trek? Do you enjoy Cosplay in your spare time? Are you aimlessly wandering around your city, trying to catch ‘em all? Are you addicted to Game of Thrones? Are you first in line for the latest gadget? Do you spend your weekends LARPing? Do you know where your local “hackerspace” is?

Did you answer “no” to these questions so you think you’re not truly a geek? Not so fast! You can “geek out” about pretty much anything, from Harry Potter books to Disney Princesses, the latest smartphones and tablets, and even sports and food. We’re all geeks about something and today is our day to celebrate it!

“Embrace Your Geekness” is a special day created by WellCat Holidays who believe this should be a day to proudly celebrate all the geeky things you’re into like “dungeon games, comic books and doing vampire dress-up.”

Personally, I think every day should be a day to celebrate your inner geek but on July 13th, if you’re not already showing the world your geeky side, now’s your chance!

Some Geeky Trivia You Can Share

Ways To Geek Out

  • Join in on a “geeky” Twitter chat – this is a great way to engage with experts and like-minded individuals around a specific topic.
  • Dress up as your favorite character from a movie, a book, a comic or even all of the above.
  • Sign up for a local or online class – whether it’s learning the best way to chop vegetables or code Java, learning is the ultimate way to “geek out.”
  • Create something! It could be the latest app or a children’s book, either way, you’re sharing your inner geek with the world.
  • Fix something! Whether it’s the navigation on a website or your car’s radiator, making something run better will always make you want to celebrate.

Whatever you do, I hope you have a happy day “embracing your geekness,” my fellow geeks! (I’ll be watching The X-Files reruns with my husband while we contemplate life outside our solar system – so I’ll be right there with you.)
