This October, SAP employees from around the world rallied together for Month of Service. Over at SAP Labs Canada, employees demonstrated generosity and altruism by giving back to their local communities through a wide array of volunteer projects.
The commitment to helping the world run better and improving people’s lives has been a part of SAP’s DNA since its founding in 1972. October marked the 13
th year our employees came together to foster positive social change in their local communities.
Some teams considered this an excellent opportunity to build bridges within their campuses and jumped onboard as Volunteer Ambassadors. Others found the opportunity to step away from the computers and to give back to those who need it most. Across Labs Canada and field locations, 1,359 employees contributed over an astounding 5,225 volunteer hours in 79 projects.
Labs Toronto teamed up with the City of Toronto to host a Career Exploration Day for jobseekers who were interested in what it takes to get into tech. Labs Vancouver hosted two events to reach out to kids who were interested in coding by hosting
GIRLsmarts4tech and Science World British Columbia’s
Future Science Leaders. Labs Waterloo dedicated several volunteering events to feed the hungry and organized an office-wide food drive for the Food Bank of Waterloo Region. Labs Montreal followed suit by preparing meals for families in need at "Tablee des chefs" Longueuil.
The 13
th annual Month of Service ends on a high-note as organizations and non-profits everywhere can agree. SAP has shown vigor and passion for helping those who need it most within our communities. We stay true to our vision to help the world run better and help improve people’s lives in all the work we do.
