My son is finishing up his third-year of college and interviewing for internships. So much has changed since I went through this process; companies are very keen to hear about community service and volunteering. Today’s businesses are very interested in being involved, even leading, with sustainability, green, and corporate social responsibility-type initiatives.
Earlier of this year, we asked you, our partners, to tell us your stories of how you are making the world a better place with SAP and Innovation. Already we have received many great stories of how our partners continue to make the world run better and improve people’s lives. And we continue to push these stories out internally, to our partners, and to our customers and prospects.
We heard from SAP partner, Liberali, that is focusing on sustainability and has created an add-on solution which manages the entire agricultural process for cattle processing, cotton, coffee and more.
Another partner, EPI-USE, reached out to tell us about a game changing solution they’ve developed, the ‘ERP Airforce’, which uses UAV’s (unmanned aviation vehicles) to monitor and track elephants within animal reserves when it is not possible to monitor them in person. The use of AUVs ultimately serves as a proactive deterrent to wildlife poaching related incidents.
As Bill McDermott recently stated in an Inc. article, "Having a higher purpose has to touch both the customer and your people because you are playing for stakes beyond money." These initiatives are critically important – and we need to tell everyone about them.
