Ok, so I am writing a blog on SCN. I've written other blogs previously on Blogger but this is the first time that I am trying something like that on SCN. Only after giving it ample thought and failing to arrive at an appropriate technical topic did I resign (much to my relief) to the idea of writing about something general.
While I gather my thoughts, which have a habit of streaking from one point inside my brain to another, and put them in a readable form, I feel it will be wise to utilize the time to thank everyone and everything that has contributed in me taking the dive.
Please forgive me if I don't thank the benefactors in the right order. Order is something that often escapes me. People who've seen my room can vouch for that, but since this group is a small one comprising of family members and close friends and therefore might want to defend me (especially because they feel I've attained marriageable age and therefore would not like to spread negative things about me in the 'market'), people who have reviewed my code would speak vehemently in support of my orderless nature. It should be easy for them to narrate, with vivid details, all the instances where I forgot to sort an internal table before using binary search on it. (Oh, please don't say that that would be pointed out by the Code Inspector automatically. 'Orderlessness' (read disorderliness) is just one quality of mine; there are others too which I would not like to discuss now.)
So, first of all, I would like to thank SCN for providing a platform for showcasing my writing skills (along with my photograph) to a vast user base. Then, I would like to thank the Coffee Corner space for allowing me space to publish my blog which other spaces would almost certainly have shooed away. Thanks to the moderators for not rejecting my post (yet) thinking I am the phoenix rising from the ashes of the not-so-long-ago spam attack on SCN. Thanks to my laptop for staying up late with me, in the absence of a girlfriend and which, owing to its old age, has to resort to external life support systems every couple of hours.
Thanks to my pet dog who, I'd like to think, lay on the floor beside me for several MINUTES (before it smelled something more promising and left) during a part of my literary adventure giving me assurance that he and his friends will be ready to take me in to their community if the SCN community demands my ouster from the network considering the level of blasphemy I am capable of spreading. Thanks to the mosquitoes who love the Indian summer and who from time to time hover over my body and on carefully selected occasions feast on my blood thereby preventing me from falling asleep and leaving my first ever blog on SCN incomplete. Thanks to my English teachers and all the authors whose books I've ever read for building my vocabulary without which this blog would have been composed of ABAP statements (most of which would have been from the obsolete gang) which if assigned to the code inspector will surely lead to his premature but voluntary retirement from service. I would also like to thank all the members who WON'T read this blog. Because if this blog doesn't hit new lows in the blogging history in terms of the hate quotient (did I just coin a new phrase?), it would largely be because of the people who didn't read it.
I am sure there are a lot more other people to thank whom I am forgetting but it's high time I started my blog now. Umm, wait a minute. Voila, that looks as big as a blog already! Yay, "I blogged".
