During the last episodes of this blog I highlighted the detailed advantages customers realize, if they implement archiving and invoice management. The experience shows that his is typically only a starting point where the benefits are obvious. Once the users start loving this new paradigm, they come up with many new ideas where guided collaboration simplifies processes significantly.
One example is the ability to link invoices, travel documentation and receipts to projects. This helps the project team to always access the up-to-date documentation and also allows finance to include an electronic copy of a receipt for reimbursement to the end customer. There are many other examples, how customers benefit:
"With Data Archiving we have maintained high user response time levels and saved money on storage costs. Document Access has allowed us to store electronic documents in a widely accessible system and has contributed to significant improvements in our business processes in the shipping, credit, and accounts payable departments. The VIM application has led to significant gains in AP process efficiency, resulting in a
reduction of five FTEs in AP."

"The most significant business benefits resulting from the implementation of OpenText ECM Suite for SAP Solutions are the speed at which an invoice is approved (minutes vs. days) and the improved ability to view documents and track invoices in the approval process. We can now also easily summarize our un-posted liabilities. These benefits were anticipated and achieved."
