Recap of the first 5 minutes of this 55 minute call:

Greg asks Patrik:  “What is the typical starting point for most customers interested in undertaking process transformation?”

Patrik states, we see two beginning frames of reference:

  1. IT/ Technology driven:  IT departments are wanting to leverage the maturing SOA infrastructure and BPM capabilities of SAP Business Suite and SAP NetWeaver for pilots and new projects.
  2. Process orientation:  companies that want to take advantage of BPM methodologies to further their work on process integration, standardization, and introduction of best practices to further optimize end to end processes, and enhance agility to react faster to market changes.

Greg asks Caspar:  “Talk about NL for Business’s experiences with helping customers with BPM projects.”

Caspar states, we help customers realize process orientation in their IT landscape.  We help define user interaction and system interactions of a process, and help them build the IT solution.  For broad scale BPM implementations, we join up with IDS Scheer and SAP.  We’ve seen good results in helping customers making business process central to their IT solutions, you get a better IT solution from it.

Greg asks Caspar:  “What is the typical starting point you see your customers at in relation to BPM?.”

Caspar states:  We are seeing customers attack new business processes as opposed to standard core processes that are handled by an SAP system.  This means new solutions on the edge of the core processes that work with new users and new ways of working.
