On June 2, you’ll notice design improvements on SAP Community, as the company’s Project Glow redesign rolls out to our platform.
Project Glow extends across all SAP web properties, and you can already experience the new design’s look and feel for yourself on sites such as SAP Support Portal. SAP Community will become the latest site to benefit from Project Glow, a company-wide effort to enhance usability, comply with the latest accessibility standards, and implement a cohesive and updated look and feel to customer facing digital touchpoints.
Elements of the redesign include the introduction of 72 font (SAP’s typeface), new iconography (and removal of pictograms), and a lighter aesthetic and softer shapes.
This mock-up should give you some idea of what to expect when the changes go into effect on June 2:
While SAP did not develop Project Glow specifically for SAP Community, the new design will address some of the common concerns that we’ve heard from you. For example, headers will become smaller across the platform, and whitespace will be reduced. In addition, the “Recommendations” widget will disappear from questions and the “Labels” widget will disappear from blog posts.
We don’t expect Project Glow to impact members on June 2, but if you are working on blog posts, long questions, or detailed answers on this date, we recommend that you save drafts periodically offline, in case you need to log in again as the redesign rolls out across community servers.
Design improvements won’t end with the introduction of Project Glow. We’ll soon add a one-column layout (to make it easier to skim new posts) and add support for dark theme. We’ll announce these changes in What’s New as soon as they are available.
