For some of us the SAP Community started off way back in 2003/2004 as the SAP Developer Network (SDN). Later after the Business Objects Community and others merged together it became the SAP Community Network (SCN) - then in 2016 it simply became the SAP Community.
I've personally seen a lot of changes to the environment over all these years but one thing has always remained constant - this is a place where you can come to ask questions, meet others and exchange knowledge.
Over the years we've had things like "Blog it Forward" that let people introduce themselves to each other. We've also had over the years forum threads and things like that to say hello.
We've even created some tutorials to help new comers as well as those like myself take more advantage of the community. Have you taken these 4 tutorials?
Would you be willing to introduce yourself to your fellow community members here?
Me? Well I started my path into the SAP way back in 2002/2003 when my company told me to learn it so I could install it when I cam back from my project in Germany. I'm sure some noticed the odd bit about that statement. Needless to say I dove in and as luck would have it, SAP had just launched their beta of a Community (SDN) so coming from a web application background I felt at home to go figure things out.
@Former Member Was actually one of the first people who helped me to figure things out, my question asking left a lot to be desired as I had no clue about terminology or anything else in the SAP world. Then it was a post by @qmacro about RSS and RFC's that really got me more comfortable and then I just went crazy sharing my experiences and learnings via the blog posts.
I started a series on BSP and "mini WAS" -
I even presented at my first SAP TechEd event.
BoF, TechEd Munich ’04 – RSS, HTTP and BSP
So it's been a crazy start into the SAP world that resulted in me getting a job with SAP, learning that you don't just "install it" 😉 and now I have the pleasure of trying to help others day to day!
Start your own thread or reply here, what's your story? Who are you?

SAP Community is not active in answering questions. This what I see on comparing with stackoverflow.

Thank you @StephanieMarley . Today I am able to join a group and I completed all of the steps in the Tour the SAP Community 2024. Now I want to publish a blog under Enterprise Resource Planning Blogs by Members section. But 'Create a Blog' button is not clickable by my account. Is there anything else I can do for blogging?
Thanks and regards,
Merve

Welcome to SAP Community @MerveKaya!! Great to have you here. There is a wait time before newcomers can create a blog. If you have completed all steps in the tutorial, then you have done everything correctly.

I am a construction engineer by education, and my story with SAP began recently when I started working as a construction manager. I learned about SAP a year ago and in February 24 I passed the SAP MM and SAP SD exams. I live in Berlin but I was born in Poland. I'm trying to find a job in Berlin as a SAP Advisor and specialize in data migration. I also had an interview at BMW, but they said that they were looking for a person who knew how to migrate data from SAP to S/4HANA. I would like to specialize in data migration from SAP to S/4HANA, but in the form of a temporary contract. I would like to find a boot for the automatic migration of approximately 12,000-13,000 pieces of data within a short period of time. I am looking for an internship as a junior SAP advisor and I would like to cooperate with someone who specializes in data migration. I know that this time for migration is supposed to end in 2027. I wish everyone a nice day.

Hi, I’m Sam from Indonesia. My journey into the world of programming began back in 2010 when I started my career as a .NET developer working with C# and VB.NET. At the time, I had heard of ABAP but never had the chance or even the need to explore it. It was just one of those buzzwords I came across but didn’t pay much attention to.
That all changed in 2011 when my company embarked on a greenfield SAP implementation project. My boss approached me with an opportunity to learn ABAP and contribute to the project. To be honest, I didn’t know what I was getting myself into, but saying no wasn’t really an option. So, I jumped in headfirst, eager to learn something new. Little did I know, that decision would become a turning point in my career.
From the very first program I wrote in ABAP, I was hooked. The language opened up a new world of possibilities for me. I discovered the unique challenges and rewards of working with SAP systems, and over time, ABAP became more than just another programming language, it became a passion.
Now, more than a decade later, I’m still as excited about ABAP as I was when I started. SAP technologies have evolved immensely over the years, and I’ve grown along with them. From ECC to S/4, exploring cutting edge technologies provided inside BTP, well the journey has been nothing short of incredible.
To everyone reading this, thank you for being part of this shared journey. Your engagement and enthusiasm keep the spark alive for me to continue learning, growing, and sharing. I’m truly grateful for this opportunity, and I look forward to discovering more of what the future holds for us in this ever evolving world of SAP and ABAP.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for sharing this platform with me.
God Bless us all.

Good day All. I am fairly new to SAP Community. I have been using SAP as an end user for over 5 years now, and created my SAP universal ID a couple years back. So recently, I decided to join the community so I can continue to learn and be able to ask questions and equally contribute to questions I can answer. As an end user, I have used SAP to manage asset maintenance, procurement, inventory, reporting, work execution, planning etc. I am really looking forward to how SAP Community will assist in my growth journey.
