Being involved in many other community networks and support forums, I've yet to see anything as practical, time-saving and helpful as the Create drop down menu (image below). To me, this reinforces the commitment and value SCN places on member developed content and participation.
Whether starting a discussion, asking a question, setting up a poll, blog post, or creating a document, you're a few clicks away from making a valuable contribution. It's the most enabled way I've seen on a user community to quickly get involved and share your knowledge.
Not to mention; being new to SCN, this functionality has made me feel very welcome.
If you have not done so already, please check out this menu option next to the Browse button. I'm confident you will find it very helpful as I have.
