Last week was my first week back to work after my maternity leave.
After 6 great months spent with my wonderful family, I was happily rejoined with my beloved colleagues at SCN. I truly felt that I have a lot to be thankful for, and was glad to be given the opportunity to help those who were less fortunate than me. I decided to join the volunteering activity initiated by my colleague
Idit Herzog.
It was a cold Thursday afternoon, as the SCN Israel team left the office towards a shabby shed, not far from here. The organization we were volunteering for receives food from companies and businesses and feeds those in need.
We were given simple instructions: fill boxes of food, with some bare necessities, such as rice, sugar and milk. These boxes were intended for families would not be able to properly feed their children.
After a couple of hours we finished our task. As a project manager, I am used to the elation that comes when one reaches a milestone, but this feeling was even better. We were actually making a small yet significant difference in someone else’s life.
These hours together helped our team bond, as we shared the feeling of being part of something that was bigger than us. I was really proud of SCN and my team.
Under the true spirit of SCN, we had a chance to contribute to our community which was truly rewarding!
