SCN Gamification and Thought Leader Badge
When we prepared the launch of Gamification on SCN we designed a set of 26 missions to encourage and rewards all our members, whether they are new members discovering SCN or well-established members. One of the most valuable achievement is represented by a badge called "Thought Leader" and it's been a hidden mission since we launched end of April.
A Thought Leader is a respected member of the community who has a strong following of members who appreciate the high quality content that they provide, and have recognized it as such. The prerequisite to be considered for Thought Leader recognition is Gold level (1,500 lifetime points). In general terms (see this Forbes article), a thought leader is a go-to person for a certain field of expertise.
We have a Thought Leader now!
Surprise! About three months after gamification was launched, we already have a winner! Wow... I wasn't sure how long it would take for someone to earn this badge, but I think it happened quickly. I'm delighted 🙂 And I have to say that I really like the game mechanics that we now have on SCN. They help me identify outstanding community members, or validate how much people like our new SCN Thought Leader - and many others - contribute to the richness of the content on SCN and the community spirit we all enjoy.
Drum rolls... Who is it?
This is where you come in. I know who it is (of course!) and so do oddss jeanne.carboni and sean.yang15 but I want the community to play around a little bit and find out who it is. Because yes, unfortunately there is no page where we show who recently got a badge.
When did that happen?
OK, I'll give you a clue. The person who got the badge got it in the last month (4 weeks).
Where do I look?
I am nice and will give you a few tips 😉
1/ Look for very influential people such as the SAP Mentors, or the SCN Members of the Month.
2/ Look also who has a high status in terms of points on SCN: Go to the About SCN space and check out the leaderboards: top contributors in terms of lifetime points, and (maybe) About SCN top contributors in the last 12 months. But I don't promise this will work 😉
3/ Figure out who has earned a lot of badges, including the top badges (check out the list of SCN missions to find out more!)

#SCNGameOn! I am looking forward to seeing who will find out first. Needless to say that the Thought Leader himself/herself is not allowed to play 😉 I hope that at least they know about the badge they just got, because unfortunately they don't get notifications for that (we are working on it though).
