Woo-hoo! I get to be one of many people in the reboot of BIF. That's just so very cool. I get to write a blog about a topic that i kind of know about - ME!
First the questions:
If you could be a superhero (or you are, and we don’t know about it yet) who would you be, and why
This one is fun. I had to think about it a bit. My first thought was "Wonder Woman". Why? Well she's just so bad ****. Then I thought - nope not really me. And it would wear me out. Not to mention the real job too.
I rolled through some of the more popular ones, and just couldn't think of a good one. SO.... Drum roll...
I'd be the invisible woman. Only as the invisible woman I could turn it off and on at a whim. I would get to leave the outerwear too. Everything would become invisible with me.
Why? Because just think off all the fun I could have slipping into and out of meetings. Know someone is talking about xyz project. I could find out and have the solutions to issues early.
Now that is all for me of course. I could easily help the community at large. Thinking of all of the politics going on now. A recorder could cut through all of that.
I could quickly slip into meetings around the world. Stopping miscommunication and issues before they start. Of course that would mean I'd have to know every language in the world. But hey, if I'm a super hero, not a big deal to know all languages, right?
It would be an interesting life that's for sure.
What is the most fun project you’ve ever participated in, and why was it fun?
Goodness this is like an interview question. Well for me, it's usually the one I'm currently working on, and now is no different.
Right now I get to work with cool things, I've never used before. I get to use CDS (which I have done a bit), create a new UI via WebIde. Learning all the pesky in between things. Our gateway, new authority, set up in the catalog...
Now not only do I get to do all of that. I've been putting on my bent and dented (dated too) Basis cap. I've set myself up in the cloud foundry. Created a sub-account. Authorizations. Added WebIDE. Now I'm struggling with getting the network to work with a cloud connectors. Right now I'm just working on getting it to work from my computer. Next I'll work with our Network guys - hopefully to figure out how to set this up on our network. My head is spinning a bit. This blog is a nice break.
OH - the actual project is creating 3 different screens for sales vs. inventory. It will compare sales, procurement, and inventory. There is one extra screen for more detail. One to update a table. Some buttons.... It should be a lot of fun. I've got most of my CDS views written. I've got some more I need to do there too.
It's fun because of everything I'm learning. I love it!
Will you participate in the
29 Seconds Video challenge?
Mean, mean question. <Sigh> Yes, when I get a chance of course I will. Maybe next weekend.
Some fun facts:
I love to read. SciFi, Romance, and Horror are my favorite. I have a Kindle. Over 7000 in the cloud. Over 2000 read. I'm not sure how they keep that count. Some they show me that are "unread" are really read. My SciFi makes all the AI things I'm seeing a bit scary. Art imitates reality. Or is it reality imitates art. I'm not sure. I'm also seeing DNA slicing for our babies could be a real thing shortly. Amazing. Maybe enough SciFi for me for awhile.
I love animals. Pretty much any animals. Although no way could I have them all. Some aren't meant to be domesticated. I have 2 dogs at the moment. One was a highly abused golden retriever. One was from a puppy mill and I couldn't resist his face. He is a "black lab".
I sincerely dislike people who are mean to animals and small children.
I also have 3 cats, one who is sure he is a dog. I have mice in the barn and my cat actually found one in my house. Anytime I see a mouse it's dead or going to be dead shortly from my cats and dogs.
Spike - Sneaking a peak at my coding or sleeping. Another one looking innocent - don't let that fool you.
My son, our dog Gemma, and one of the two black cats. They don't take a very good picture. If you look on the couch in front of the window - "Piggie" or Mowhark our other dog is taking a nap.
I have 2 miniature ponies. Mom and daughter. In the wild a mother and daughter will never leave each other. When I knew they had been together two years and we were buying one for my then small (3) son, I couldn't split them up. So we still have them both. My son is now 23 this year. He has just graduated college.
I have a pony. Nate's old one. He is in his late twenties and very happy in the same field as the two miniature ponies.
I have 2 regular size horse. (Mine and retired) My mom has one regular size horse living with us. Also retired.
When I was younger I had hermit crabs, hamsters, snakes, and even a baby squirrel that had fell out of a tree. We let him loose after he was a little bigger. The snakes were outside.
Also I work from home. This means normal hours at my desk. I love it. I get a lot done here.
I am a newly appointed SAP Champion. I'll try to keep listening and learning from you all. Plus have fun things out there. Like my fun community call.. It was about productivity (with the community) which is pretty dry, but I loved doing it. I'll be posting that as well as links to my Powerpoint later.
One of the great things about the community:
You. It gives me a chance to interact with people I wouldn't normally meet.
Next up for nominations:

My questions - pick any you would like to answer:
What do you enjoy about the SAP Community?
If you could go to another world with a guarantee that you would be able to come back in a day, would you? Why?
If you could have 2 months off of work to study a different culture - which one would you choose? You would have to either write a thesis or help the culture and publish what you did.
If you were given the time to work on any development project you wanted - even one just for you - what would you work on?
