xls to xls scenario, incorrect data format at receiver

Hi, I have a requirement to pick and post .xls file through PI. I am using passthrough scenario. The output file generated in incorrect format with entire data in a cell. I have attached an example. How to I rectify this and data distributed in excel. Do I need content conversion or mapping to get data in correct format.

You should not need a mapping for a pass through scenario. What adapter are you using? If it is a File (FTP), make sure you have set the mode to "Binary"
