i exported SWF from Xcelsius 2008 into PPT file. However, the exported SWF file could be only display for the first time. Once the files saved as another name, it was just displayed as blanc in ppt slide show. Anyone met the same problems and could share your experience on solving this problem.
I am using office 2007 and Flash player 10.
Thanks in advance.

I am having the same issue...I export to Powerpoint and the embaded flash file works fine. As soon as I save it and re-open it...I get nothing! No error message, no dashboard, just a blank screen. I am running the latest verision of Xcelsius, Falsh player, etc... and I am saving to both PPT and PPTX formats. I am in semi-panic mode since I am demoing this on Friday. Any suggestions???
Thanks,
larry

Following the advice of others elsewhere on this forum ([here|;), the best I have managed is to:
- Export the model as a swf
- Manually insert the flash object on a PowerPoint slide (see instructions [here|http://www.ispringsolutions.com/articles/how_to_insert_flash_into_powerpoint_2007.html])
NB do not embed the movie or the same problem arises - or at least it did for me.
I find it simpler not to put a path to the swf file, but to make sure that the swf is in the same folder as the PPT, but this may make distribution more difficult.

Hi,
Make sure you go to C:\Programfile\Msoffice\........................\ppt.exe
Now go to http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html
1)Add your ppt.exe location to that.
2)Make sure you using the latest version of flash and IE 7 would be fine.
3)Make sure you add the dashboard.ppt to adobe flash seeting as well to avoid this issuess...
Hope this helps..Please let me know this works fine.

Hi, I have tried all of these fixes and I am having issues with Power Point's not rendering the Flash Object when in presentation mode. I have the correct version of Flash installed and have added .ppt.exe to my security and have added the folder wiht the .ppt file. I am trying to play a deck that has embeded content that I did not create so I cannot manually add it.
I have Office 2007 and Windows 7, any other fixes or ideas on how you can help me?
Thanks,
Mechelle

Based on past experience with both embedded SWF files in PPT that I created or that were sent me:
1) I once had to delete all Internet history to get anything to work.
2) If I run the PPT in presentation mode and then save the file the next time I open the file the SWF will not work. For this reason I always save the original file as read-only so I don't make this mistake.
Whenever I am building a presentation that will include a SWF slide I always leave that slide blank until I am done with the rest of the presetnation (given I go into and out of presentation mode many times when I am building a deck) then I copy the SWF object onto the slide at the last minute and save the PPT without ever rendering the SWF object. This approach has always worked for me.
i dont think 2010 is supported

Hi
I have tried to go back to the old version of Flash Player, but still cannot make it work.
So my interim solution for this is to create an .swf file which uses Internet explorer. Press F11 to go to full screen. And that creates a preview similar to power point. So this is the deployment mechanism I am selling to the users at the moment. and the added benefits is that it is small in size, much quicker and more stable than power point.
Let me know if this is helpful.

Are you using Flash Player 10.0 or 10.1? There's another thread on this issue in FP 10.1.
