Working with HANA CV / MDS Cubes. Do not see any additional Dimensions available besides Private.

Hello colleagues,

I have been investigating HANA CV / MDS cubes for possible SAC performance improvements.  Have a standard star schema, 1 Aggregation using a table as data source which is joined to 2 Dimension CV's. Pretty straight forward.  Have the join cardinality and join type acceptable for MDS ( no error messages ) . Issue: When I go to select the "dimension" attributes, I can only see the private attributes of the Aggregation and the names of each of the joined dimensional CV's. I do not have the ability to select any of the attributes in the joined dimensions. I have looked at all the docs/ SAP help and tutorials and researched under SAP 4Me notes. Cannot find a reason for this behavior. How can I add the attributes from the joined dimensional CV's ?

I appreciate any help on this. Images are attached.

While you can select individual private attributes, you can only select complete shared dimensions (the names of each of the joined dimensional CV). This means: By selecting the names of the dimensional CVs you automatically include all of their attributes.

Hello Jan, Thanks for your time on this. This CV / MDS Cube is in HANA Cloud. In SAC when creating a live data model and selecting this MDS Cube I still see just the private members and the two table names ZAC_CVP_D_CONT_ACCT_T and ZAC_CVP_PREMISE_T. I do not see listed any of the attributes of these shared dimensions. I also see a "CustomDimension2" entry in the All Dimensions list. So in essence, I am seeing the same dimensions that were shown on the MDS Cube panel in the HANA CV.

Hi, seeing only the dimension name when creating the live data model sounds correct to me. When you now create e.g. a story based on the live model - do you still not see the individual attributes? When selecting a dimension there you should be able to expand the dimension and see the attributes.
