workflow - recipients of a user task

Hi,

Using a trial account, I configured my account and then I created,
developed and deployed a workflow (with a use task ) on CF can play with it from the approuter site,
dev-bpmservicesflp-approuter. everything is working fine.

I wish to see the task on the recipient side without going through the hardships of configuration but by simply logging in to the same approuter as the recipient user in hope to find the user task in my inbox.

My approach is:
I sent the recipient a link to my approuter site.

I logged in to the site as the recipient (another new account) and was expecting to see the task in my inbox.
I'm aware that as a trial, a user task can only have one recipient -myself-.

However I get error in my inbox app in the counter slot, and popup errors when I enter the inbox app.
the error I get is:

  • My Inbox tile shows "Error" instead of count.
  • Error "Error while loading the tasks. For more information, see the details." occurs when opening My Inbox Tile. When Show Details clicked on this error message, "Resource not found for the segment 'TaskCollection' " appears.
  • Browser Console shows:
"Failed to update data via service /sap/opu/odata/IWPGW/TASKPROCESSING;v=2;mo/TaskCollection/$count/?$filter=Status eq 'READY' or Status eq 'RESERVED' or Status eq 'IN_PROGRESS' or Status eq 'EXECUTED': Request aborted - sap.ushell.components.tiles.applauncherdynamic.DynamicTile"

Question:

Can the recipient of a user task be exposed and see the task in her inbox without engaging any configurations i.e Boosters, roles, permissions etc.

if not, whats the right approach.

Thanks

Hello Roy,

MyInbox application is indeed to see the user tasks assigned to the recipient. As you are using trial account, so you need to configure the task only to your user - which is based on email IDs (which means the user task in workflow have to be configured to give your email ID as recipient).

Only the users who are part of workflow user task recipients list can see the tasks. These users must be authenticated and authorized to open My Inbox task. No one else will be able to view it by any means. What I do not understand is - why do you want an unauthorized person to view the task?

If My Inbox tile shows error there could be 2 reasons:

  1. Either the browser have been timeout. Open it is in incognito mode and login again.
  2. You do not have the needed permissions. To view the task, you need to have WorkflowParticipant role assigned to your user. (If you run the Booster, it will automatically assign all the needed roles to your user or you can also assign it yourself)
