workbook variables

Hello,

I am creating a workbook which contains 4 queries. Each queries has separate variables, of which only few are common to each other. I want to create a workbook with a single variable entry screen. Can we do that in BW3.5? If so please help.

Thanks,

Rad

Hi Rad,

You can address it with a little VBA coding.

1. Insert a new sheet where there is a button to refresh the query.

2. On clicking this button pop up a VB Form where the user can enter all the variables.

3. Save the variable values in a temperory sheet/Save it in local VBA variables.

4. Use SAPBEX.XLA functions to refresh different queries. While refreshing each query pass the previously entered values of each variable using SetFilterValue/SetDrillValue

The following functions of SAPBEX.XLA can be used for this:

Run "SAPBEX.XLA!SAPBEXsetFilterValue", var1_value, , Sheets("Querysheet").Range("B:23"))

Run "SAPBEX.XLA!SAPBEXrefresh", False, Sheets("QuerySheet").Cells(3, 1)

More info on sapbex features is available at: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bw21c/helpdata/en/f1/0a55f9e09411d2acb90000e829fbfe/frameset.htm

If you feel the approach is ok and need more info pls lemme know.

Rit
