Hi Experts,
As a part of new project, PI 7.1 has to connect to External/Third party server. I have raised a firewall request for establishing connection from PI to this external server, it is yet to be implemented. When I am trying to access the server via WinSCP/FileZilla, I am getting below errors:
WinSCP: "Connection Failed"
FileZilla:
Please correct my understanding: From WinSCP/FileZilla, we can access any internal/External server without the need of any firewall as such exclusively for WinSCP/FileZilla right?
Is there any setting which I am missing due to which I am not able to access the external server from my system? Kindly help me here.
Thanks, Surya

Hello Surya,
Your FTPS server might have IP address restriction ( from where the server could be accessed ).You can try getting into your customer VPN and they might have opened connection there and try to access via winscp.
Dont think any setting missing from your end and it might be restrictions at 3rd party FTPS server.

Hi!
The common rule is that first you have to check if the target server could be accessed from your network.
If you say this is the "external" server, the most possible issues are that network routing is not set up to acces that server from your subnetwork and/or DNS name to IP-address resolution in impossible.
Do you try to access the server by its DNS name or by IP-address? You can use any free tool to "ping" the server/port in order to check it's accessible. Or better ask your network team for assistance.

Hi Surya,
it might be the corresponding FTP Server is down or some network glitch, you can ask your FTP vendor or IT team they will help you with this.
